Challenge Snapshot

You’ll help children in the Kathmandu Valley develop key understanding of business and finance principles. Your contribution will last far beyond those four weeks, because having such a strong understanding is a game-changer for children here – it means unlike many within the country, they can access good jobs within the business sector.

Empower the next business leaders

Challenge Overview

You’ll be working on a range of projects that help improve the business and finance education quality at our partner schools in Kathmandu Valley. You will get the chance to design and facilitate activities and workshops to raise financial awareness, specifically focusing on addressing the existing gaps in financial literacy within the community. You will use your knowledge and skills, while developing a greater understanding of how the lack of financial awareness reflects in social injustice issues and perpetuates gender inequality. Working in low income and rural communities students will use their activities and workshops to raise aspirations, supporting women and youth from local communities achieve success over the long term.It’s not all work and no play – you’ll have plenty of free time during your evenings and weekends to explore the local area!

Develop critical thinking

Weeks 1-4:
Work in one of our community partner schools in Kathmandu Valley, delivering workshops that inspire children to enjoy going to school to learn about business. Weekends classrooms a more positive learning environment.

Weekends:
Your weekend is free for you to spend as you like. We recommend heading to Kathmandu for the whole weekend so you have time to explore all that this amazing city has to offer, including Swayambhunath, Boudhanath temple and the bustling night life of Thamel!

An average day
on the project

Monday to Friday you will facilitate workshops with the weekend free to travel or explore under your own steam. Your day will usually consist of a morning session (approx. 3 hours) after breakfast and then another 3-hour session after lunch. Your afternoons and evenings will be free for you to relax and explore town or plan a session for the next day
