Panama: Social Impact in the Community

Become a Global Citizen in Panama as you immerse yourself in the local culture, inspiring children to love learning and creativity, and to speak English so they can access better jobs and prosperity. Then, how about a tour of the best sights Panama has to offer.

Challenge Snapshot

You’ll help children in El Valle de Antón develop English, STEAM and creative arts skills. Your contribution will last far beyond those weeks, because being able to speak English is a game-changer for children here – it means unlike many of the country’s poor and illiterate, they can access good jobs and a bright future.

Take a deep dive in mentorship

Challenge Overview

You’ll be working on a range of projects that help improve education quality at our partner schools in El Valle de Antón. These could include running life skills workshops that build children’s confidence and encourage transferable skills like problem solving, conflict resolution and teamwork. You’ll be asked to deliver conversational English lessons that will increase the children’s opportunities for further education and well-paying jobs later in life. You’ll be running STEAM workshops that encourage experimentation and innovation. You will also be working with the wider local community members including teachers and parents to deliver workshops in life skills and outdoor physical activities.

Your workshops will teach the wider community important skills like critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork that will engage them in education and help reduce drop-out rates.
