Tanzania
Welcome to Tanzania, a land of spectacular
wildlife & breathtaking landscapes!
Tanzania is a true gem of East Africa, offering endless adventure and stunning landscapes. Home to Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s largest free-standing mountain, it’s a must for thrill-seekers. Hike through diverse ecosystems to reach its snow-capped peak. Tanzania also boasts incredible wildlife, from safaris in the Serengeti to exploring Zanzibar’s coral reefs. With rich Swahili culture, vibrant traditions, and breathtaking nature, Tanzania promises a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Our Impact in Tanzania
We work closely with local partner schools in a sustainable way, measuring success by the number of children reached and the hours dedicated to each project. Through regular needs assessments and collaboration with headteachers, we focus on age groups that will benefit most from cross-cultural inclusion, ensuring lasting impact and positive change.
- Our programmes are guided by the UN Goals for sustainable development
- Our base is in the city of Arusha, where our outreach includes the Masai communities who live in remote villages.
Where You'll be Based
Our Challenges Abroad projects will take you to Arusha, a vibrant city located at the base of Mount Meru in northern Tanzania. Known as the gateway to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, Arusha offers a unique blend of cultural experiences and breathtaking landscapes. Spend your time visiting local markets, exploring nearby wildlife reserves, and immersing yourself in the rich history and culture of the region.

“I couldn’t recommend Challenges Abroad any better. I have just come back from the incredible Tanzania trip. The impact it’s left on me after two weeks is incredible. I learned so much about culture, people and life. I was shown the beautiful aspect of day to day living in Tanzania and was supported heavily throughout it.”
