Prakriti Malhotra

Director

“I believe one student, one team, one programme can be a catalyst for change. Over the past two decades, we have sent out thousands of students and seen them grow as global citizens and develop as future leaders. The impact that our participants make in our partner communities continues to be inspiring. Spending time overseas gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself, experience new things, and realise your potential to create positive change in the world. I believe that together we can make a difference and build a brighter future for all”

Prakriti Malhotra, Director of Challenges Abroad

Arvind Malhotra

Director

“It’s my belief that each one of us needs to play our role to tackle the challenges we face around the world. Whether it be the challenges of climate change, access to quality education or economic inequality we can all make a difference. Through small changes comes big impact. At Challenges Abroad we are committed to developing global citizens who are able to define their purpose, share their passion and put their mission into practice as leaders of the future. We would like to invite you on our journey together, to create a better world and become part of a community of people who care.”

Lizzie George

Head of Further Education Programmes

“The opportunity to travel not only opens your eyes to the wider world, it allows you to step out of your comfort zone and learn more about yourself than you could imagine. It is a privilege to work with students, from the moment they first hear about Challenges Abroad, to the moment they touch back down in the UK after their incredible Summer Challenge. It only takes one student to make a huge difference overseas and I am so excited to invite you to be a part of our programmes.”

Becky Robson

“I’ve been working with young people for 10 years, supporting them in their next steps in education and their early careers. I love engaging with students and seeing how they grow and change as they expose themselves to new experiences. I am also passionate about ensuring they are able to translate these experiences into tangible skills to enhance their next application to UCAS, apprenticeships, work placements and beyond.”

Kieran West

Head of Higher Education Programmes & Operations

I’ve been with Challenges Abroad since 2014, and the most rewarding part of my role is seeing the joy and excitement that our participants bring to the rural communities we work with around the world. Spending time in Cambodia earlier on in my career gave me the pleasure of seeing first-hand the difference that our programmes make! This experience really opened my eyes to what it means to be a Global Citizen.

Lucy Robertson

Student Engagement Coordinator

“As student engagement coordinator for universities in the south of the UK, I am excited to share my passion for travel with all students. As a new graduate, who had the opportunity to go abroad while at UNI, and after, I understand what an amazing experience travelling and seeing the world can be. I can’t wait to take all of you on the amazing journey to making your impact on the world, and becoming a global citizen! ”

Pjay Drayton

Student Engagement Coordinator

“Hi I’m Pjay, coming into the Student Engagement role having travelled to one of the global hubs in Nepal, I understand the great benefits and importance of the work we do here well. This inspired me to give as many students in the north the same opportunity I was so lucky to have. Therefore I look forward to ushering the next generation of global citizens into this amazing organization!”

Harry Fleming

Programme Coordinator

“Hi, I’m Harry and am the Programme Coordinator for the UK universities. Whilst studying International Development at university, I took the opportunity to travel to South Africa for the summer and volunteered with a local organisation on a variety of different projects. This included teaching English, renovating a school, educating children on sustainability, and empowering a local community to recycle empty containers of glass, plastic, and tine so that they could purchase donated goods from a ‘swop shop.’ Alongside this I was able to take in some incredible experiences such as bungee jumping, camping in a safari and feeding elephants at a sanctuary. I look forward to supporting you on your journey with Challenges Abroad! “
