Thailand: Social Impact in the Community

Challenge Snapshot

Despite its thriving tourism industry, Thailand still grapples with various social and economic challenges. Rural areas often lack essential services, leaving many residents living at or below the poverty line. These communities are significantly disadvantaged when it comes to education in particular – schools are underfunded, overcrowded and children are disengaged, leading to high drop-out rates. By joining the team on this programme, you’ll get to work on a range of awesome, long-term education projects, some of which include:
Designing and facilitating conversational English workshops to improve the learner’s confidence in speaking English – a vital skill in helping them secure employment in the future!
Designing and facilitating workshops in creative arts, STEAM education, life skills and/or environmental sustainability workshops that inspire the learners in their education in a more engaging environment!
Raising environmental awareness amongst the local community through tree-planting activities and community clean-ups!

“The trip to Thailand was well planned out and there was a good balance of doing the workshops in the school whilst also learning about Thai culture. For me the trip was amazing and I would 100% do it all over again. Knowing that I’ve made a difference to the children’s education is the most rewarding aspect of the programme.”
