Thailand Social Impact in the Community
Make a real difference in local communities while exploring Thailand’s culture, landscapes, and people.
- Thailand
- Education & Community
Challenge Snapshot
- Help teach English & life skills in hill tribe schools
- Support after-school programmes for disadvantaged children
- Connect with local families through genuine cultural exchange
Overview
Thailand is known for its rice fields, mountains, rich traditions, and warm community spirit, offering a meaningful setting for your Global Citizenship journey. However, many local families in Mae Hong Son Province face barriers such as limited access to quality education and fewer opportunities for hands-on learning. Based in Mae Sariang and nearby hill tribe villages, you’ll support local schools and communities by designing and delivering engaging workshops in areas such as conversational English, STEAM, life skills, and environmental awareness, helping young learners build confidence, curiosity, and essential life skills for the future.
Blending meaningful community engagement with cultural immersion and practical experience, this programme helps you build genuine connections, strengthen your confidence, and contribute to positive change that continues after you return home.
- Focused on UN Sustainability Goals

Are flights included?
Flights aren’t included in the programme cost because many participants choose to extend their travels before or after the programme, so booking flights independently gives you the flexibility to arrange your own travel plans. It also works out more cost efficient if you book them. Don’t worry though, we’re here for support if you need us.
Do I need any previous experience or qualifications?
You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join most of our programmes. We provide comprehensive preparation and support before departure, as well as a detailed Programme Orientation on arrival in-country, ensuring participants feel confident and ready to contribute to the programme.
Can I raise money to fund my trip?
Absolutely! This is something we encourage you to do, and we’ll help you set up an official fundraising page so you can share it with your network to collect donations.
What is the accommodation like?
You’ll either be staying at our hub, or a local partner guesthouse in dorm-style accommodation, sharing your room with up to three other participants. There are western showers and toilets, as well as communal spaces for relaxing. While you will be provided with home comforts, they will be different to your usual standards and all part of the challenge!Â
