The Urubamba communities we work with face many health challenges because of a lack of knowledge. You’ll be running fun workshops that improve awareness of hygiene, sexual and general health. But it’s not all work and no play! You’ll have plenty of free time to explore Urubamba and beyond.

Take a deep dive in mentorship

Challenge Overview

This challenge will enable you to make a massive contribution to low-income families in and around Urubamba. A lack of knowledge of basic hygiene and sanitation practices among community members causes a lot of unnecessary illness and places a burden on their under-resourced hospital.

We’ll be asking you to help us deliver fun, educational workshops at local schools focusing on key health issues, health and wellbeing workshops, nutrition and physical activity workshops, and to use your ingenuity to infuse them with creativity and fun.

Arrival at Cusco airport:
You’ll be met by our in-country team and transferred to your accommodation in Urubamba. We’ll give you a full orientation to your project and show you around town. There will be plenty of time to explore and get to know your new home!

Weeks 1-2:
Work in one of our community partner schools in Urubamba, delivering health and wellbeing workshops that aim to enhance the knowledge and understanding of basic personal healthcare needs.

Weekends:
The weekend is free for you to spend as you like. We recommend going to Cusco on Friday afternoon.
