Uganda

Explore the Pearl of Africa and create lasting memories while making a positive impact.

Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, is a destination that will genuinely stop you in your tracks.

From the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to endangered mountain gorillas, to the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains, known the world over as the “Mountains of the Moon”, and the vast, shimmering waters of Lake Victoria, this is a country of breathtaking contrasts.

Add to that a wonderfully diverse cultural tapestry, shaped by numerous ethnic groups each with their own languages, traditions, and customs, and you have a destination that is as enriching as it is awe-inspiring. Uganda doesn’t just show you the world differently, it changes how you see it.

Our Impact in Uganda

Despite its extraordinary natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, many children in the communities surrounding Jinja face real barriers to quality education. From improving classroom environments to supporting community health and creating sustainable livelihoods, our programmes in Uganda are built around what local people actually need.

Working hand-in-hand with schools and rural communities around Jinja, we deliver projects that create real, lasting change, and you’ll be right at the heart of it.

Where You'll be Based

Welcome to Jinja, the adventure capital of East Africa and your home for the programme! Positioned on the banks of the River Nile as it flows out of Lake Victoria, Jinja is a town that buzzes with energy, warmth, and an infectious sense of community.

Uganda’s cultural heritage is incredibly diverse, and you’ll feel it in every market visit, village walk, and cooking class you take part in. Evenings are packed with activities, from quiz nights to movie nights, and the surrounding landscapes are simply stunning.

For those seeking the ultimate adventure, our optional two-day safari to Murchison Falls National Park offers game drives, a boat trip up the Nile, and wildlife encounters you’ll be talking about for years.

Choose Your Trip

People always come back from trips like this and say it changed their life. You can never understand that until you do it and realise it truly is life-changing… This trip really showed me that everyone, everywhere is the same. We just have different experiences and opportunities and I’m thankful to have the opportunity to see the world through someone else’s eyes.
