One of the major challenges in Cambodia is the lack of access to quality education, hindering people from acquiring the skills needed for employment and breaking the cycle of poverty. The Cambodian government offers only half a day of free primary education, with full-day classes requiring paid supplementary sessions. For families in poverty, this cost limits children’s access to education. Since 2013, Challenges Abroad and FutureSense Foundation have supported a supplementary education center in Battambang, offering free classes to the community’s children.
Design and facilitate educational workshops that supplement the rigid government curriculum, while inspiring learning techniques to go beyond traditional rote learning methods!
Help in the development of important skills like critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork that will engage young learners in their education and reduce drop-out rates!
Raise environmental awareness amongst the local community through tree-planting activities and community clean-ups!
