Cambodia: Health and Wellbeing Challenge

Experience Battambang whilst making a much-needed impact to local communities’ health and wellbeing. Bring all your creativity into delivering workshops that help children learn through hands-on education.

Challenge Snapshot

The Battambang communities we work with face many health challenges because of a lack of knowledge. You’ll be running fun workshops that improve awareness of hygiene, sexual and health, and first aid. But it’s not all work and no play! You’ll have plenty of free time to explore Battambang and beyond.

Challenge Overview

This challenge will enable you to make a massive contribution to low-income families in and around Battambang. A lack of knowledge of basic hygiene and sanitation practices among community members causes a lot of unnecessary illness and places a burden on their under-resourced hospital.

We’ll be asking you to help us deliver fun, educational workshops at local schools based around hygiene, clean water education, disease transmission and prevention, hand washing, female health, and habits for a healthy lifestyle.

Improve education quality

Develop critical thinking

Arrival at Siem Reap
You’ll be met by our in-country team and transferred to your accommodation in Battambang. The next day we’ll give you a full orientation to your project and show you around town.

Weeks 1-4:
Work in one of our community partner schools or supplementary education programmes near Battambang, delivering health and wellbeing workshops that aim to enhance the knowledge and understanding of basic personal healthcare needs.

Weekends:
The weekend is free for you to spend as you like, whether that’s staying in Battambang and riding the bamboo train, or visiting Siem Reap to explore all that the amazing city has to offer, including Angkor Wat, Pub Street and some fabulous spas. Just make sure you’re back in time for Sunday dinner!
