We are passionate about developing the next generation of change makers. On our Thailand: Climate Action programme, you will inspire local students to become change makers and develop their climate awareness and relationship with nature. On this programme, you will contribute to a range of projects including:
Delivering workshops on climate change, waste management and the 5 R's.
Run practical sessions
Contribute to developing new recycling initiatives in partner schools
When you arrive in Thailand you’ll be met by our team at the airport. Over the next few days you’ll have a thorough induction and orientation where you’ll learn about Thai customs and culture, get your bearings around town, meet community partners and gain a better understanding of the context of the projects you’re working on.
Over four weeks weeks, you’ll work in the community Monday - Friday with your weekend free to travel and explore. Your day will usually be structured with a morning session (approx. 3 hours) after breakfast and then a session of the same length after lunch. Your afternoons and evenings will be free for you to relax or do any required planning for the next day. On this programme you’ll be primarily based in Mae Sariang, but may also spend some time in the remote hill tribe villages we work with.
On the last day, you’ll either be transported back to the airport to begin your journey home.
You may be eligible to receive funding for this programme from your University. We recommend contacting your University Go Global/International Office to find out more, or book an appointment with one of our travel experts who will be more than happy to discuss funding options with you.
Participating on a programme like this will help you gain crucial transferrable skills and boost your employability. Some of the capabilities you can expect to develop are:

Making presentations and public speaking.
An understanding of environment challenges in Thailand and the complexities of delivering programs in a developing country.
To deal with the uncertainty that comes with COVID-19, we have introduced the following guarantees so you can confidently book your volunteer programme today.
Although we are confident that programmes will go ahead as planned, if your programme is affected by Covid-19 travel restrictions, your programme will be postponed to the following year.
We are continuously monitoring the advice of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and speaking with our teams on the ground to ensure we are fully aware of all on-going situations. If your destination is affected by coronavirus travel restrictions, you will be able to move your programme to one of our other destinations.
Our volunteer's health and safety whilst overseas is our biggest priority. We are putting in place additional measures to enhance health and safety practices when travel resumes. Some of these measures include increased cleaning at our accommodation, reducing the number of volunteers sharing bathroom facilities, mandatory hand-washing before meals and an in-depth review of all in-country risk management processes.
