Experience the very best Nepal has to offer this summer! Volunteer in the local community on a range of projects aimed at improving education quality in the Kathmandu Valley. You'll be challenged to step out of your comfort zone and think creatively as you're immersed in the incredible local culture. Then end your journey with the amazing 5-day Poon-Hill trek through the breath-taking Himalayas.
During the first week you’ll be immersed in the local culture in and around the Kathmandu Valley, volunteering at one of our partner schools to deliver educational workshops. Your workshops could focus on a range of topics including:
STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths)
You will spend the second half of your programme trekking off the beaten track on the Poon-Hill Trek. On this 5 day trek you'll pass spectacular waterfalls and cross knee-trembling suspension bridges. The awe-inspiring views will keep you going as you watch the sun rise over the Annapurna range turning the mountain tops to shimmering gold.

To join a challenge, all you need to do is sign up by clicking the 'book now' button and choose your payment option. Our partner charity, The FutureSense Foundation, have a fundraising support team who will be with you on your fundraising journey. However, we know fundraising isn't for everyone, so you can choose to either Fully Fundraise for your programme, or Flexi Fundraise. If you choose the Flexi Fundraising option, you will fundraise £1000 and pay the remaining programme fees in instalments.
To deal with the uncertainty that comes with COVID-19, we have introduced the following guarantees so you can confidently book your volunteer programme today.
Although we are confident that programmes will go ahead as planned, if your programme is affected by Covid-19 travel restrictions, your programme will be postponed to the following year, and your fundraising deadlines will be extended.
We are continuously monitoring the advice of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and speaking with our teams on the ground to ensure we are fully aware of all on-going situations. If your destination is affected by coronavirus travel restrictions, you will be able to move your programme to one of our other destinations.
Our volunteer's health and safety whilst overseas is our biggest priority. We are putting in place additional measures to enhance health and safety practices when travel resumes. Some of these measures include increased cleaning at our accommodation, reducing the number of volunteers sharing bathroom facilities, mandatory hand-washing before meals and an in-depth review of all in-country risk management processes.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience in the school. Teaching is a passion of mine, so it was incredibly rewarding to make that difference to children in Nepal. The experience enabled me to build upon my own skills, including teamwork and resilienceVolunteer - Keeley - Nepal
The Nepalese students had a big impact on me. Getting to know them in such a developmental phase of their life has taught me so much about their country and its culture, and about people in general. I am struck dumb by their energy and resilience.Volunteer - Nyree - Nepal
