On this volunteer challenge you will spend two weeks working on a variety of projects aimed at improving education quality in Palampur. You'll be challenged to step out of your comfort zone and think creatively while you're immersed in the local culture, helping local children and their families have a brighter future.
In Palampur you will volunteer in one of our partner schools to teach a range of workshops that supplement the national curriculum to improve education quality. You could be teaching sessions that focus on conversational English, life skills, the environment, creative arts and sports! We encourage our volunteers to be creative and deliver fun workshops that will engage the children and allow them to learn hands-on.
You will also have the chance to volunteer on a renovation project at one of our partner schools with the aim of creating a safer and more inspiring learning environment. You could be painting an educational mural, renovating a playground, creating a library, installing a hand-washing station and more!
Following an induction and orientation when you arrive, your volunteering days will be Monday-Friday with the weekend free to do your own travel. We recommend heading to nearby Dharamshala to visit the home of the Dalai Lama and the exiled Tibetan government, or if you’re more of an adrenaline junkie you could go paragliding from the second highest location in the world!
It's one thing to experience such a different culture as a tourist, but so much more incredible to experience it as a global citizen.Volunteer - Jordan - India
