Experience the very best Thailand has to offer this summer! Travel off the beaten track to rural northern Thailand where you will volunteer in a beautiful hill tribe village, support rescued Elephants and explore the land of smiles. This amazing adventure will leave a lasting impression on you and will make a sustainable difference for the organisations and communities you will be supporting!
You will volunteer at the Elephant Nature Park, an ethical elephant park that sets the bar in the region for elephant treatment and runs a global campaign to stop animal cruelty and the torture of elephants through work in the logging or entertainment industries. The sanctuary has over 80 rescued elephants as well as hundreds of rescued dogs and cats. Here, your activities will include:
Cleaning up after the elephants at the park
Cleaning water troughs
Feeding the elephants (banana and watermelon are their favourite)
Cleaning and sorting elephant food
Spending time with the dogs and cats to familiarise them with humans
Walking the disabled dogs
You will also spend half of your programme in a remote hill tribe village. Here, you will be working on projects that improve education quality. You activities could include:
Conversational English sessions to improve children’s competency and confidence speaking English
Creative arts, life skills and environmental sustainability workshops that allow children to learn additional skills in an exciting hands-on setting, develop their critical thinking skills and become more engaged in their education
Infrastructure projects to improve school facilities and create a safer and more conducive learning environment for children
Environmental sustainability activities such as community clean ups and tree planting.
After your volunteering you can join our optional extension trip for £599, where you’ll spend a week chilling out on the beautiful island of Koh Samui! You will have the opportunity to go on snorkelling tours, island hopping, kayaking and more. The full itinerary can be found by downloading the challenge pack below.
To join a challenge, all you need to do is sign up by clicking the 'book now' button. Our partner charity, The FutureSense Foundation, have a fundraising support team who will be with you on your fundraising journey.
To deal with the uncertainty that comes with COVID-19, we have introduced the following guarantees so you can confidently book your volunteer programme today.
Although we are confident that programmes will go ahead as planned, if your programme is affected by Covid-19 travel restrictions, your programme will be postponed to the following year, and your fundraising deadlines will be extended.
We are continuously monitoring the advice of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and speaking with our teams on the ground to ensure we are fully aware of all on-going situations. If your destination is affected by coronavirus travel restrictions, you will be able to move your programme to one of our other destinations
Our volunteer's health and safety whilst overseas is our biggest priority. We are putting in place additional measures to enhance health and safety practices when travel resumes. Some of these measures include increased cleaning at our accommodation, reducing the number of volunteers sharing bathroom facilities, mandatory hand-washing before meals and an in-depth review of all in-country risk management processes.
*Note: if you have other dates in mind or would like to travel as an individual, email us at [email protected] and we’ll be more than happy to help!
