Experience the very best Peru has to offer this summer! Volunteer in the local community on a range of projects aimed at improving education quality in the Sacred Valley. You'll be challenged to step out of your comfort zone and think creatively as you're immersed in the incredible local culture.
We work with the local communities at the grass root level and have developed a range of programmes that tackle environmental issues. We believe that education is the key to environmental awareness and as an environment challenge volunteer you will be helping us drive forward our long-term environment and climate action goals in our community. Projects you could be involved in include:
You will also have the chance to volunteer on a renovation project with the aim of creating a safer and more inspiring learning environment. You could be painting an educational mural, renovating a playground, creating a library, installing a hand-washing station and more!
Your volunteering days will be Monday-Friday with the weekends free to do your own travel. We recommend heading to UNESCO World Heritage city Cusco and making a trip to the infamous Rainbow Mountain!
After your volunteering you can join our optional extension trip for £599, where you’ll spend a week trekking to Machu Picchu. Taking the less touristy Salkantay route, you will see glacier lakes, trek through mountain passes and hang out with llamas before reaching the lost city of the Inca's. To deal with the uncertainty that comes with COVID-19, we have introduced the following guarantees so you can confidently book your volunteer programme today.
Although we are confident that programmes will go ahead as planned, if your programme is affected by Covid-19 travel restrictions, your programme will be postponed to the following year, and your fundraising deadlines will be extended.
We are continuously monitoring the advice of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and speaking with our teams on the ground to ensure we are fully aware of all on-going situations. Although we expect all travel restrictions to be lifted by Summer 2022, if your destination is affected by coronavirus travel restrictions, you will be able to move your programme to one of our other destinations
Our volunteer's health and safety whilst overseas is our biggest priority. We are putting in place additional measures to enhance health and safety practices when travel resumes. Some of these measures include increased cleaning at our accommodation, reducing the number of volunteers sharing bathroom facilities, mandatory hand-washing before meals and an in-depth review of all in-country risk management processes.
*Note: if you have other dates in mind or would like to travel as an individual, email us at [email protected] and we’ll be more than happy to help!
